What could be better than spending the day on the lake in the beautiful Eagle River area? How about spending the day on the lake watching an astonishing display of athletic stunts and maneuvers? Let yourself be amazed by a water ski show in the Eagle River area this summer!
With an abundance of fresh water lakes, it’s no wonder that Northern Wisconsin has several award-winning water ski teams performing every week throughout the summer. Many of the shows even have free admission, with donations appreciated, and concessions available. Each team has a unique performance and set of skills so don’t try to decide which show to watch – watch them all!
Conover, located roughly ten miles from Eagle River, is home to the Chain Skimmers Ski Team. This award-winning ski group performs every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 7:00 pm on Lake Pleasants, located near Lanny’s Fireside on Highway 45 in Conover. They delight and amaze their viewers with daring tricks and jumps, flips and stunts. Find them on Facebook to keep up to date on special shows.
The Three Lakes Aqua Devils is a long standing ski team performing since 1958. Current skiers include 2nd and 3rd generation team members! They perform tricks such as the ballet line, the criss cross, and the girls pyramid. See them perform on Big Stone Lake in Three Lakes every Wednesday and Saturday at 6:30.
The Hodag team performs on Boom Lake in Rhinelander every Wednesday and Sunday at 7:30. Food and drink concessions are available throughout the show.
The Min-Aqua Bats are another long-standing team, and have been doing ski shows since the 1950’s! They perform on Lake Minocqua in Minocqua every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 7:00.
The Plum Ski-ters perform on Plum Lake in Sayner at 7:00 Wednesdays and Saturdays.
We are very excited that the Chain Skimmers will be returning to Phelps this summer to perform on North Twin Lakes. This special performance is part of the Phelps 4th of July celebrations, and will follow the Phelps parade. Other festivities include kids games, concessions, and live music.
